Clarissa supports trans and non-binary people across the UK and beyond to develop a voice and communication style that feels authentic, confident, and aligned with their gender identity.
Clarissa has many years experience in this area and has worked for Gender Identity Clinics across the UK and currently works at the London GIC. She is also the Chair of the UK Trans Voice and Communication Clinical Excellence Network (CEN), and works with clinicians across the UK to advance best practice in trans voice therapy, improve access to evidence-based care, and support the development of high-quality gender-affirming voice services.
Clarissa offers personalised voice therapy for trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and anyone exploring their voice and communication. Therapy is tailored to your individual goals and may include work on pitch, resonance, vocal quality, intonation, communication style, confidence, and vocal wellbeing. Whether you are at the beginning of your transition or further along your journey, Clarissa provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment to help you find a voice that feels like you.

Voice feminisation therapy helps transgender women and transfeminine people develop a voice that reflects their identity—without the need for surgery. Unlike oestrogen or other feminising hormone therapy, which does not raise vocal pitch, voice feminisation therapy uses evidence-based techniques to safely modify pitch, resonance, intonation, vocal quality, speech patterns, and communication style to create a voice that feels authentic and natural.

Voice masculinisation therapy helps transgender men, transmasculine, and non-binary people develop a voice that feels authentic, confident, and aligned with their gender identity. While testosterone typically lowers vocal pitch by thickening the vocal folds, it does not automatically create a more masculine resonance, speech pattern, or overall vocal quality. Voice therapy with Clarissa can help you develop these aspects safely, resulting in a voice that sounds natural and reflects your identity.
Whether you are taking testosterone, have not yet started hormone therapy, or choose not to take testosterone, Clarissa will provide you with techniques to develop a deeper, richer vocal timbre through changes in resonance, vocal tract shaping, intonation, and communication style. Sessions focus on building healthy, sustainable vocal habits that feel comfortable and confident in everyday life, with both online and in-person appointments available.
